Chapter 103 Keeping A Blind Eye

A few days had quickly passed by since the office room incident.

And currently, Jiang Ming was sitting at the dinner table at his house.

"Are you enjoying my cuisine?" Yang Liqin smiled lightly as she gazed at him with gentle eyes.

Jiang Ming nodded his head.

"I dare say that the cooking skills from my aunt are unparalleled in the whole Northern Continent." He complimented her sincerely.

After all, he was someone who had eaten junk food and instant cup noodles his whole life. Therefore, when he tastes some delicious home cuisine made by his love, it would simply melt his heart.

"If you like it that much, then make sure to come home early every day. Otherwise, there would be no leftovers for you." Yang Liqin said, dropping some subtle hints and double-meaning for him.

Today was the day when Jiang Ming would begin his investigation with Yuan Chunhua regarding the murder cases occurring in the city.

"Alright, aunt, I\'m going to head out now." Jiang Ming stood up and said after finishing his meal.

"Un, be careful when you\'re investigating. Catching the culprit is not your number one priority, but your safety." She gave him one final warning.

Jiang Ming smiled without saying anything else. In a puff, he had already left his house and proceeded to head toward the academy to meet up with Yuan Chunhua.

Yang Liqin could only sigh softly as she watched Jiang Ming start becoming more and more independent.

Placing her hand around her chin, she started daydreaming and wondered what would have happened if they hadn\'t gone past the line of an aunt and nephew relationship.

\'Nah, how could I resist his advances when my heart is always filled with him.\' She shook her head and stopped thinking about it.

Instead, she turned around and stared at Hong Ling. "Have you finished the preparation for today, Hong Ling?"

"Everything has been set up according to your instruction, Madam Yang."

"Good, make sure everything is perfect. I don\'t wish for Jiang Ming to be hindered by us."

After walking for around 15 minutes, Jiang Ming had swiftly arrived at the office of Yuan Chunhua.

"Instructor Yuan Chunhua, I\'m here." Jiang Ming announced, knocking on the door.

"Come in"

Hearing her voice, Jiang Ming opened the doorknob and entered.

What greeted him right away was the gorgeous figure of Yuan Chunhua in a uniformed outfit. It was similar to those police uniform cosplay women, tempting and seductive at the same time.

\'Damn, are we going for an investigation or some sort of party?\' Jiang Ming wondered silently.

Thankfully, he wasn\'t some dog in heat and was able to control his emotion to remain calm.

The strenuous exercise from the past few days was enough to suppress all sorts of lust and evil mind.

"Why are you dressed like that, Instructor Yuan Chunhua?" Jiang Ming asked as he took a seat on the couch, crossing his legs and yawning.

"Is there something wrong with my dress?"

"..."

Woman, you are dressed so seductively, almost like you\'re going to a party instead of investigating.

As much as Jiang Ming wanted to scream that aloud, he kept it to himself. Otherwise, he might get accused of being sexist or worse, gender discrimination.

"Anyway, we\'re going to head off to the Lei Clan first and ask their patriarch some questions." Yuan Chunhua said.

"The Lei Clan?" Jiang Ming raised an eyebrow.

If Jiang Ming had recalled correctly, there was a young master from the Lei Clan that had barged into the Moon Bazaar in the beginning. The Lei Clan was so arrogant that they even disrespected Bing Tong and incur the emperor\'s wrath.

"Hmm, you seemed to be familiar with the Lei Clan." Yuan Chunhua suddenly said when she saw him with a funny look.

Jiang Ming nodded his head.

He proceeded to inform her regarding the farce he had with the Lei Clan previously.

"Well well well, isn\'t this perfect for you then, Jiang Ming." Yuan Chunhua held an amused expression when she finished hearing his story.

"The Lei Clan had offended you, and now you can easily use my authority to humiliate them as revenge." She added.

"You\'re right, but I\'m confused about one thing." Jiang Ming suddenly said as he stood up. "Didn\'t the emperor say he was going to exterminate the Lei Clan? So how come they are still functioning as a clan?"

Back then, Emperor Zhao Tong had specifically said that he would make the Lei Clan pay for causing harm to his daughter. Yet, now he was being informed that the Lei Clan is still active.

How does that even make any sense?

Yuan Chunhua let out a soft sigh as she shrugged her shoulders. "Politics, Jiang Ming. Even though this is the cultivation world, his majesty still needs to consider the consequences for any of his actions and decisions."

"Tch, then he really shouldn\'t be an emperor if he can\'t even keep his word." Jiang Ming clicked his tongue in annoyance.

However, upon thinking further and why he was forced to be an investigator to assist Yuan Chunhua, Jiang Ming had a bad premonition.

"Don\'t tell me that son of a bitch is using me as a sword to get rid of the Lei Clan?" Jiang Ming asked.

Meanwhile, Yuan Chunhua swiftly avoided his eyesight as she grabbed a coat from her chair and smiled.

"Let\'s hurry up before we delay any further." She tried to divert the topic, clearly unwilling to disclose any information.

"So I have really been played by you two huh?" Jiang Ming laughed sarcastically.

Yuan Chunhua\'s response is no different than giving him the \'yes\' answer.

Hence, he couldn\'t help but feel irritated about being used.

"Jiang Ming, you should just let it go and not maul over it." Yuan Chunhua said and walked toward him.

"His majesty has many spies all around the Northern Continent, so he already knew about the Skartoom\'s incident even though I had said nothing. Yet, he\'s keeping it silent and turning a blind eye to it."
