Chapter 177 Caprice

With Howard informed that everything was ready, Lei Zhen made his way back to the Strandland Port to inspect for a final time.

It wasn\'t that he didn\'t trust Howard, but it was best to be careful rather than sorry.

Sailing in the sea wasn\'t something to be taken lightly, and any mishaps could happen. He wished to have everything prepared for all kinds of scenarios, treating it like it was real life despite being in a game.

Sometime later, Howard guided Lei Zhen toward the supposedly small boat that he owned.

The small boat had its own name called Caprice, with its meaning being unpredictable, a befitting for Lei Zhen considering his action so far as the chancellor.

He was unpredictable and decisive in his conduct which sent tremors to all the nobles.

Lei Zhen nodded his head, feeling proud of what Howard had managed to do in such a short span of time.

He could see multiple crewmen in uniform walking around the ship and working on their stuff. On top of that, there was someone else ordering and holding some sort of a list in their hands.

"Not bad at all." He praised calmly. "Anyway, so where\'s the person that you specifically needed to train and test that they are valid?"

"Of course, Chancellor. That person is residing in the Control Room overseeing the current weather at the moment." Howard responded.

"Control Room?" Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure it\'s alright to let someone into the Control Room?" He then questioned, clearly didn\'t understand why Howard would let someone in such an important room.

After all, who\'s to say that these people are trustworthy yet?

Howard doesn\'t seem to be the type to blindly believe in others either which was why Lei Zhen was slightly astonished by this matter.

"You\'ll know soon enough, Chancellor. This person is somewhat special, to say the least." Howard replied, subtly keeping things a bit mysterious.

Although still a bit perplexed by it, Lei Zhen could only nod his head and follow Howard.

Along the way though, Lei Zhen was greeted by the crewmen that temporarily stopped their work to pay their respect.

It wasn\'t surprising that they would greet him with such respect. After all, Lei Zhen was their employer and their bread and butter at this moment.

Knowing that this bunch of people would be here for a long time considering he had no intention of operating a big ship like this one, Lei Zhen waved his hand in response.

"Everyone can just get back to work. I\'m just here to inspect the progress, so no worries." He jokingly said.

Sometime later, they arrived at the Control Room, one that is heavily secured and guarded.

The Control Room could be said to be the core of the entire ship operation.

It can be considered to be even more important than the room in which the captain would use the helm to steer the ship around.

There was a radar system and a big map located in the Control Room and it was the area that managed the surveillance of the ship.

"Where is that person?" Lei Zhen asked the moment he entered the Control Room.

He glanced around his surroundings, but not a single person was in sight.

"I believe the person is under the desk over there," Howard calmly pointed in a direction. With his experience as an imperial guard, it wasn\'t hard for him to detect any presence around the surroundings.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow and turned his head toward the direction Howard pointed at.

To his astonishment, Lei Zhen recognized those long and pointy ears.

"An elf?" He asked in a dumbfounded tone.

"Yes, it was an elf woman that was supposed to be auctioned in a slave market. I went there looking for possible candidates to assist the Chancellor in his journey in the sea and discovered this hidden gem. This elf woman has a unique attribute that allows her to communicate with the wind, a perfect ability when needing to travel in the sea." Howard quickly explained.

"And how much did you spend exactly?"

"About 5 gold coins plus a bit of my reputation and the Chancellor\'s reputation. When the slave market learned of the news that this elf woman was needed by you, they were quite generous to give the bid up to me." Howard said with a not-so-friendly smile.

Lei Zhen twitched his mouth.

\'Generous huh?\' If it wasn\'t for the not-so-friendly smile, then he might have believed Howard\'s words.

However, he would have still doubted the slave market would actually care about imperial guard status, let alone his resigned Chancellor position.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ After all, the slave market could be considered an underground type of operation and doesn\'t really like following the law most of the time. Or at least that was his opinion of this matter.

Either way, the process doesn\'t matter and Lei Zhen had no intention of prying into it.

"I see… if this elf woman really does have that kind of ability and can be of use to me. Then all is well." Lei Zhen calmly said.

Slave or not, that doesn\'t matter much to him since he was no saint.

However, Lei Zhen found her to be more familiar, with the emerald hair color and quite a decent body figure as well.

\'She can\'t be the same one that I saw before, right?\' Lei Zhen wondered silently, feeling that things can\'t be that coincidental.

A few seconds later, Lei Zhen\'s doubts were soon clear when the elf woman finally got out from under the desk and stood up.

The moment she stood up and turned around, her facial appearance was revealed to Lei Zhen.

There was a slight shock on her face when she saw Lei Zhen, but she quickly regained her composure.

"Greetings, Master. My name is Candice and I am a high elf from the tribe of Luminous in the far western country." The supposed elf woman, Candice, went down on her knees and greeted Lei Zhen.
