Chapter 126 - 126: Settle the Score, Yu Xiheng’s Person (1)

Zuo Tianfeng looked utterly incredulous. “Mom, have you gone mad? Let

Zonghe and Si Fuqing get engaged? What are you thinking?”

Though Zonghe was a bit of a wastrel, he was, after all, the eldest son of the Zuo family.

What did Si Fuqing have?

He had tried to stop his father from adopting Si Fuqing in the first place and had not succeeded. Over the years, Si Fuqing had shown no particular ties to any family, offering no benefit to the Zuo family.

Zuo Tianfeng had already planned for his daughter, Zuo Xianyu, to inherit the company, with Zonghe reserved for a strategic marital alliance.

The goal was to align with a family that could benefit the Zuos, and Si Fuqing didn’t fit that bill at all.

“What do you know?” The elderly woman grew agitated. “You have no idea!” Unlike her son, she knew something he didn’t.

With the sudden heart attack that claimed her husband’s life and the hospitalization of another family member, the fourth brother, she suspected that the family’s ‘Luck’ was dwindling.

Originally, they had seized this ‘Luck’ through unscrupulous means, and what’s grabbed can’t last forever. But she hadn’t expected things to unravel so quickly.

Si Fuqing had left only a few days ago, and already so much had befallen the Zuo family.

The elderly woman didn’t dare contemplate what uncontrollable events might happen next.

She was old and nearing her end, but the family line must not be extinguished.

“Mom, you can’t be serious,” Zuo Tianfeng’s voice deepened. “Even if you want to bring Si Fuqing back, you don’t have to arrange an engagement with Zonghe. He’d probably just want to fool around with her; he wouldn’t even want to marry her.”

“I need some rest. In a couple of days, you, along with Xianyu and Qingya, will accompany me to where Si Fuqing is recording her show,” the elderly woman decided after considerable thought, she ordered. “Apologize to her and ask her to come back.”

This made Zuo Tianfeng erupt, “Mom, you’re being completely unreasonable!” Asking him to bring ????? back was no different than asking him to die.

‘You’ll understand how correct my decision is when the time comes,” the elderly woman clutched her prayer beads, murmuring, “It’s a sin, truly a sin.”

She closed her eyes and softly chanted a Buddhist mantra, finally feeling a semblance of tranquility settling over her tumultuous thoughts.

Returning from the training base that evening, Si Fuqing booted up her computer and once again logged into “Oracle.”

She glanced at the coordinates sent by JI Xingzhi, preparing to rendezvous with him.

Although four or five years had passed, the game’s expansive map remained unchanged.

It mirrored reality, with Eastern and Western factions.

She belonged to the Eastern faction, her avatar a Swordsman.

Swordsmen specialized in close combat, possessing immense damage output.

A single icy slash could bring chill to fourteen states—a style that suited her well.

The meeting place JI Xingzhi had chosen was an entrance to a secret realm.

Si Fuqing navigated her in-game Swordsman through the main city gates and into the wilderness.

This area was remote and dangerous, rarely frequented by players.

However, as she ventured deeper into the forest, she saw a white-clothed Bard leaning against a tree in the distance.

Si Fuqing arched an eyebrow.

Is this playerAFK and asleep?

Whatever; it was none ofher business.

Si Fuqing moved her mouse cursor, glancing at the man’s level above his head.

Level 180.

Glowing gold.

She took a look at herself.

Level 120.

The level cap in “Oracle” was 120 back in her day, so naturally, she was level 120.

Si Fuqing intended to pass by, until she saw the Bard’s username.

A single character: Nine.

She hesitated for a moment.

And in that very second, the white-clothed Bard suddenly made a move.

“Zing! ”

A sound of a string instrument resonated, and her Swordsman avatar fell to the ground, lifeless.

[System Notification]: You have been killed by player Nine, one piece of equipment dropped.

Si Fuqing:

She smiled.

Her fists clenched.

A max-level player bullying her, a nobody?

[Current][Player Name Hidden]: Real men don’t fight with ambushers like you! Wait until I reach level 180, then we’ll settle the score!

Just as Si Fuqing let out a soft hum and prepared to leave, a line of text popped up in the chat box on her left.

[Current][Nine]: Friends.

Si Fuqing replied with a question mark.

[Current][Nine]: PK.

[Current][Player Name Hidden]: Will you die if you say a few more words?

[Current][Nine]: Won’t die.

He paused for a second.

[Current][Nine]: But will get tired.

Si Fuqing:

What did this guy mean?

It was one thing to share the same name as her, another to kill her in-game, and now he was being antagonistic!

After a moment’s thought, Si Fuqing clicked to accept the friend request.

Once added, she made a note next to his name.

[Assassination Target No.l.]

Si Fuqing looked again at his Level 180 status. Damn it!

Once she reached the max level, she vowed to pin him to the ground and pummel him..
