Chapter 411: 410 Best Experimental Subject

Chapter 411: 410 Best Experimental Subject

His lips curled in a grimace. He glanced at the man now donning his coat and icily asked, “What’s your plan for my memory restoration? I hope you’re not expecting me to figure it out myself.”

“I shall contact you after the Spring Festival.”

With these words, he gracefully exited the room without further ado.

Mo Zixuan stared at the closed door and frowned. He downed his glass of water on the table and pulled his phone out to dial a number.

Meanwhile, Xiao Wenqing and Wu Tianyi discussed whether Mo Zixuan was being swayed by Mo Jingteng and Mo Xiuchen against them.

On this subject, Wu Tianyi turned cold, “I told you, you can’t trust Mo Zixuan. He’s Mo’s blood, he wouldn’t betray the Mos, not even for his own mother.”

Xiao Wenqing frowned and quietly rebutted, “If it wasn’t for Zixuan that night, I wouldn’t have escaped so easily. He does think about me, his mother.”

The problem, she thought, was the cunning and guile of Mo Jingteng and Mo Xiuchen. They had been able to prey on Zixuan’s naivety, and now they had even cast doubt in his mind about his mother.

“Whatever the case, he’s not willing to co-operate with us now. Rest assured, he must have discovered the truth about Wen Ran’s past, he just hasn’t informed us about it. Does Mo Zixuan really think that without him, we won’t find out? ”

Wu Tianyi’s eyes were frosty. If he didn’t have the ability to cope, how could he be where he is today, having an affair with Xiao Wenqing for all these years without being discovered?

Even if he’s not in G City, he still maintained a vestige of influence.

Consider Tong Shishi, who was caught in a scandal with Mo Zixuan a while back. She was one of them.

“Do you have any other strategies? Let’s not count on Zixuan, you start investigating through other channels, see if you can draw any connection between Wen Ran and the Gu Family. She celebrated her birthdays at the Gu’s place. I refuse to believe she has no relations with them.”

A cold smirk surfaced on Wu Tianyi’s face. He was about to reply when his phone suddenly rang.

“It’s Professor Fu calling. He must be arranging our departure.”

Wu Tianyi’s smirk vanished as he answered the call and cheerfully greeted, “Professor Fu.”

“I have good news for you.”

Jingyi’s voice echoed clearly from the speakerphone. Xiao Wenqing’s eyes sparkled as Wu Tianyi asked in excitement, “Professor Fu, are you saying we can go abroad now?”

“No, it’s about a new drug I’ve developed. I’m looking for a suitable subject to test its effects. I don’t have a viable candidate over here, you find someone for me. We can then conduct clinical trials.”

Xiao Wenqing cast her gaze away, her spirits dampened. She avoided looking at Wu Tianyi.

“Professor Fu, do you require any specific gender for the trials? Or could it be either male or female?”

“Either is fine, preferably anyone who’s already been subject to my drug trials. Remember how you mentioned that Wen Ran might be Gu Yan’s daughter?”

Upon hearing Jingyi’s sudden question, Wu Tianyi hesitated before replying, “We’re still verifying the information.”

“See to it right away. If Wen Ran turns out to be Gu Yan’s daughter, she’d be perfect for our trial. That young girl was indeed the most brilliant specimen.”

Jingyi’s voice betrayed a hint of perverse excitement. He had asked Xiao Wenqing and Wu Tianyi to dispose of the girl all those years ago, only to learn recently that she might still be alive.

If she was indeed alive, he had resolved to get her back and use her again in his experiments. He wasn’t as satisfied with any of his test subjects in recent years as he had been with her.

“Understood Professor Fu, I’ll confirm Wen Ran’s identity at the earliest. Could you inform us when we’ll be able to leave the country?”

“No rush, you’re safe where you are right now. You can help me with a few things while you’re here. Once I’ve cultured the ‘FV’ virus, I’ll have you ruin Gu Yan’s reputation.”

He had been waiting for almost three decades for this moment, and he wouldn’t be quenched just by spoiling Gu Yan’s girl. Nothing short of decimating the Gu family would satisfy him.

And more importantly, he wanted to demonstrate to the world that he was superior to Gu Yan.

“Sure.”

Wu Tianyi sounded a bit disappointed. Luckily, Fu Jingyi couldn’t see his expression over the call. However, judging from his voice, he sensed his client wasn’t pleased, “Are you unhappy about helping me out?”

“No, not at all. Professor Fu, I am more than willing to be at your service.”

Wu Tianyi’s face quickly restored its smile as he reverted back to his original tone of excitement and joy.

“That’s the spirit. Rest assured, once I topple Gu Yan, you’re off the hook for sure. If it turns out Wen Ran is indeed Gu Yan’s daughter, that’s even better. We can target both the Mos and the Gus at the same time. And then, you would control the MS Group…”

Jingyi rambled on about his delirious daydreams. They revitalized Wu Tianyi in an equally perverse way.

“I couldn’t agree more, Professor Fu. I assure you, I won’t let you down.”

His mood lifted. For all these years, Jingyi had steadily schemed on how to torment Gu Yan; his entire existence revolved around revenge.

And he, too, had plotted against Mo Jingteng for many years. As long as Mo Jingteng was still alive and his company still under his son’s control, Wu would not let it go.

After ending the call, Wu Tianyi immediately dialed Tong Shishi’s number. She hadn’t been in touch for a while and he wondered if she had any news to report.

The phone rang several times before getting answered. Tong Shishi’s voice sounded weak. A frown creased Wu Tianyi’s forehead as he sternly asked, “Tong Shishi, how’s your wedding with Little Liu coming along?”

“The wedding’s off, and I lost my baby. Thanks to Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.”

The bitterness emanating from her voice was palpable through the phone. Wu Tianyi broke into laughter. This was indeed welcome news; there’s now one more person out there who despised Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.

“How did they harm your unborn child?”

He feigned concern. He knew perfectly well that the child wasn’t Little Liu’s, but the young man was oblivious.

“Mo Xiuchen had me investigated. He claimed the baby wasn’t Little Liu’s and I ended up miscarrying. Tell me, Boss Wu, what do you need me to do? I swear I’ll avenge my unborn child from Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.”

While she didn’t particularly care for the child, she nonetheless sought to exploit his existence. Mo Xiuchen thwarted her plans and she couldn’t bear it.

Without Wen Ran’s voice recording exposing her ruse and without Mo Xiuchen’s interference, Little Liu’s parents wouldn’t have a chance to stop him.

All of this was their doing!!!
