Chapter 471 Merge of the Five Robes
Lin Shen actually complained about a lack of a sense of achievement, and Ye Xing only wanted to say, let his sense of achievement go to hell.
"Sure, we can try on other planets." Tian Xun was very happy. If they could take away the things left by the Little Wine Emperor right now, that would be great, to avoid any longer, complex dreams.
Although Ye Kong and her sisters promised to keep it a secret, Tian Xun didn\'t believe them at all. She had her own plans, and whether they could keep the secret or not, it would have no impact on Tian Xun.
The group arrived at Yellow Star, which was much like Purple Star. A yellow robe was suspended above the peak of a mountain; in fact, it was white with yellow patterns, not a truly yellow robe.
Everyone\'s gaze turned to Lin Shen, wondering whether he would be able to tame this yellow robe as well.
"Do I need to take it off?" Lin Shen asked as he pointed to the Purple Star Ritual Robe he was wearing, his eyes looking towards Ye Kong.
"The rules only say you need to collect all five Sacrificial Robes; it doesn\'t say whether you have to take them off or not," Ye Kong shook her head.
"Since that is the case, then let\'s not take it off." Lin Shen directly tried to put on the Yellow Star Sacrificial Robe over the Purple Star Ritual Robe.
Ye Xing\'s gaze was fixed intently on Lin Shen, hoping with all his heart that Lin Shen would not succeed, or even better, that the Yellow Star Sacrificial Robe would teach him a lesson.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Unfortunately for her, her wish was not fulfilled. Lin Shen directly put on the Yellow Star Sacrificial Robe that was floating in the air.
"This is too easy, not challenging at all. Darling, watch as your husband collects all five Sacrificial Robes for you." Lin Shen was now certain that he could easily take these sacrificial robes.
What puzzled him was why these robes did not show any reaction at all.
After being tamed, shouldn\'t wild creatures present a key and then turn into a Pet Capsule?
Now, with two sacrificial robes on him, they looked no different than two ordinary capes, and didn\'t seem to be of any use to him at all.
The Yellow Star Sacrificial Robe also had a ritual text on it, roughly with the same meaning, also invoking the deity known as the "Jade Emperor."
In the middle, there were some characters that he couldn\'t understand, looking odd as if he recognized them, yet he did not.
The group subsequently went to Blue Star, Green Star, and Red Star, and the Sacrificial Robes of Blue Star and Green Star were easily obtained as well.
Lin Shen, wearing four sacrificial robes, didn\'t feel any different, and he didn\'t know if these robes would protect him from others\' attacks.
Ye Kong and her sisters had become numb. They felt that their hundreds of years of effort were nothing but a joke in the eyes of Lin Shen.
What they had sought and not obtained, someone else could easily grasp with just an outstretched hand. Such a disparity was too great for them to accept.
Lin Shen\'s existence seemed to tell them that their past few hundred years had been lived in vain, and all their efforts were meaningless.
They arrived at the last planet, Red Star, which was actually not much different from the previous four stars, except that it was closer to the sun, hence the temperature was somewhat higher than the other planets.
With the strength of the few, naturally, they did not fear such a temperature and directly approached the Red Star Sacrificial Robe.
Lin Shen once again reached out and took off the Red Star Sacrificial Robe; until now, everything had been the same as before.
But when he put on the Red Star Sacrificial Robe, the five robes suddenly shone brightly, with red, yellow, blue, green, and purple divine lights ascending and enveloping Lin Shen in a multicolored glow.
Lin Shen was startled, but thankfully the colorful glow didn\'t harm his body, which gave him some peace of mind.
Tian Xun was already by Lin Shen\'s side. If Lin Shen were to be hurt, she would have reacted immediately to help Lin Shen free himself from the control of the Sacrificial Robe.
Fortunately, what they feared did not happen. The five robes merged into one amidst the colorful glow.
The myriad of colors vanished, leaving only black and white on the merged robe.
With a white background and black characters, the robe appeared quite striking.
It was only then that the onlookers, who were attentively observing the robe, realized that those incomprehensible parts were originally incomplete.
When the five robes merged, the incomplete texts also came together, forming characters that Lin Shen and the others could recognize.
The desperate hymn was some words of prayer to the Jade Emperor. After Lin Shen recited those hymns, he suddenly felt as if time had come to a standstill.
Everything around ceased moving, and only Lin Shen, wearing the Sacrificial Robe, was able to move freely in this paused space.
Suddenly, Lin Shen saw a beam of light descend from the sky, as if shooting out of nothingness, landing before him.
The beam gradually unfolded, turning into a mysterious and ancient door, with jade as bricks and colored glaze as tiles, surrounded by immortal aura and hidden flashes of lightning. The door appeared as if it came from a land of gods and demons, carrying an endless terrifying aura.
As the beam unfolded, the door slowly opened.
Behind the door lay a long staircase, leading to an unknown destination. Beyond the staircase, a series of peculiar buildings stretched endlessly, shrouded in mist, appearing like vast behemoths in the clouds.
The Sacrificial Robe on Lin Shen moved on its own, leading him through the door and up the staircase with an unstoppable force.
Lin Shen wanted to resist, but was completely unable to. The power of the Sacrificial Robe had reached an unimaginably terrifying level, far beyond Lin Shen\'s ability to contend with.
All sorts of strength was useless under the power of the Sacrificial Robe, and he could only watch helplessly as his body was led up the stairs by the robe.
At the end of the staircase was evidently a huge palace, a style Lin Shen had never seen before and difficult to describe because it was unlike anything he had ever heard of and therefore hard to depict.
The palace doors opened, and guided by the Sacrificial Robe, Lin Shen entered the interior of the palace.
Inside the palace was a resplendent sight, filled with a hazy glow that made everything appear fantastical and indistinct to Lin Shen\'s eyes.
At the highest point of the palace, a figure sat upon a lofty throne, but shrouded in a diffuse glow—the light was especially intense around the figure, rendering Lin Shen unable to clearly see the one seated on the throne. It was like staring directly at the blazing sun in the sky; after only a few glances, his eyes felt like they were about to be blinded.
"Why have you come?" The figure on the throne surprisingly began to speak.
"How would I know why I\'ve come, I didn\'t choose to come here myself; I was pulled in by the Sacrificial Robe," Lin Shen felt depressed inside, but then he thought, "The hymns on the robe are used to ask for the help of the Jade Emperor deity. Could it be that deities really exist in this world, and the one above this throne is that Jade Emperor deity?"
